Music Tales Program
(Typically for ages 4.5 to 5.5 years old )

Enter the world of an eccentric rabbit as he tells stories from his childhood in an effort to teach your child how to play the piano. This music series teaches five-note reading, in treble and bass clef, ear training, keyboard playing and theory basics. The stories used in this series are tools to make learning notes and songs enjoyable. Students and their parents are encouraged to attend classes once a week for 50-60 minutes. Your child will be equipped with his/her own keyboard. Students are expected to have a 4-to-5-octave keyboard or piano at home. This allows the student to practice the skills learned in class at least 10-15 minutes, 3-4 times a week to achieve the most out of the program. PPMS uniquely designed Layered Learning Environment (LLE)® process continues to aid kindergartners in developing :

  • the acknowledgement of rules
  • increased motor skills
  • increased pro-social behavior
Music Tales 1
The first of this series explores five-note reading in both the treble and bass clef. Ear training, keyboard playing and singing play important roles helping students play songs with ease while having fun. Group singing, movement, rhythm games, board reading along with storytelling keep classes exciting and motivating.

Music Tales 2
The second of this progressive series continues to develop your child's playing ability, reinforcing extended note reading, bass clef reading and the use of two hand playing. Students in this class will continue to work on more challenging musical theory concepts, coordination and rhythm.

Music Tales 3
This last book of the series will skillfully enable your child to read in both treble and bass clef staves in two positions, demonstrate transposition of their songs in familiar hand positions and have a strong harmonic and melodic understanding of music. Ear training will be further developed enough to understand hearing musical patterns in two keys. Graduating students will be proficient in playing songs with simple chords and will be prepared to enter the advanced group class series.
